With over 40 years experience as a general contractor, land developer and engineering technologist, Jim has a unique combination of hands on expertise and technological know-how.
Growing up in a family excavating business was a great learning opportunity. Jim began installing septic systems as a teenager. Forty years later we have thousands of systems in service.
When the new Sewerage System Regulation was introduced in 2005, Jim achieved Authorized Person certification as a Registered Onsite Wastewater Practitioner. By 2007, he was instructing the onsite wastewater courses and joined the certifying body for sewerage practitioners. He served the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC as Chair of the Onsite Wastewater Certification Board and later as Manager, Onsite Wastewater Program.
Jim is a recognized subject matter expert in the onsite wastewater industry. He was a team member for development of the Ministry of Health's Sewerage System Standard Practice Manual. He developed and instructed the Ministry of Health’s mandatory upgrade course for Version 3 of the Sewerage System Standard Practice Manual.
